When I started Purple Shamrock Strategy, I wanted to create something different — a consultancy that blends the discipline of big-agency analytics with the agility and creativity of a startup. For years, I watched businesses struggle to connect the dots between data, marketing, and growth. They were either buried in metrics with no strategy, or endlessly creating content without understanding what actually moved the needle.

From Big Data to Big Ideas: My Background
Before launching Purple Shamrock Strategy, I spent more than two decades leading data and analytics at some of the world’s top agencies and consulting firms — Initiative, Spark Foundry, Point B, EY, and Society Consulting, among others. I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies, emerging startups, and everything in between, helping them translate messy data into actionable strategy.
I hold an MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business and a Bachelor’s in English from Whittier College, which probably explains my obsession with both numbers and narratives. I’ve always believed that the best marketing isn’t just analytical or creative — it’s analytically creative. The magic happens where insight meets storytelling.
Along the way, I helped redesign the Yahoo! homepage, launch Yahoo! Fantasy Sports, and guide numerous digital transformations for clients across industries. But over time, I began to see a pattern: large organizations had access to world-class talent and resources, while smaller brands — often the most passionate and innovative — were left guessing.

After years of leading analytics and marketing strategy at large agencies and consulting firms, I realized I wanted to take a more hands-on approach to building brands — not just advising them. I wanted to see the full journey: from strategy to execution, from concept to customer.
So, I decided to bet on myself. I built and grew my own e-commerce brands , I ran every ad, built every Shopify page, tested hundreds of creatives, and optimized every campaign.
That experience was humbling and transformational. It taught me what it really takes to grow an online business from the ground up — not from a PowerPoint deck, but from the trenches.

The Purple Shamrock Name: Strategy Meets Serendipity
People often ask where the name Purple Shamrock comes from.
The story traces back to James Michael Curley, the legendary Boston mayor known for his larger-than-life personality and populist instincts. Curley was nicknamed “The Purple Shamrock” — a blend of Irish symbolism and bold individuality. The shamrock stood for heritage and perseverance; the color purple, for creativity, confidence, and transformation.
That mix resonated deeply with me. My father carried the name forward in his own business, Purple Shamrock Racing, as a reminder that luck favors those who work relentlessly and take bold chances. When I launched my consultancy, it felt only right to continue that legacy — but reinterpret it for the modern business world.
For me, Purple Shamrock represents the balance between strategy and serendipity — the fusion of luck and logic, imagination and insight, heart and hustle.
